Scientists Without Borders

The New York Academy of Sciences in partnership with many scientific and global health organizations—including the American Society for Cell Biology, the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, the Earth Institute at Columbia University, the Pasteur Institute, and many others—is launching the first step in a new initiative called Scientists Without Borders Like Doctors Without Borders and Engineers Without Borders, the goal of Scientists Without Borders is to improve quality of life in the developing world. However, unlike these project-based organizations, Scientists Without Borders is planning to build a virtual community that will connect and coordinate science-based activities worldwide so that scientists and institutions working in key research areas connected with health, agriculture, energy, and the environment can share everything from expertise and equipment to specimens and transportation.
